Ayrton aims to keep up recent winning form
After a four week break, the GB3 Championship heads to Cheshire’s Oulton Park this weekend (10-11 September), and Tewkesbury’s Chris Dittmann Racing heads to the circuit in confident mood after a scintillating weekend at Silverstone last time out.
Ayrton claimed a double victory at the home of the British Grand Prix to reinvigorate his season. With that fresh in the mind, the team sets course for one of the most challenging circuits in the UK with high hopes of challenging at the front once more, and both drivers have recent experience of the track following a productive test day last week. Ayrton is no stranger to Oulton Park, having raced at the venue in F4 and with CDR in 2019 when the championship was known as BRDC British F3, scoring two podiums and a pole position.
Team Principal Chris Dittmann said: “We’re all looking forward to resuming the GB3 Championship season this weekend at Oulton Park, which is a really special circuit. It’s a proper old school track that really tests the drivers, but I’m confident of another strong weekend. Ayrton has shown well there before; we were close to wins at Oulton Park when we raced together in 2019. Our recent test has helped to rekindle that knowledge and will hopefully give us a head start, especially after the Silverstone double win which has given everyone a massive confidence boost.”
Ayrton Simmons said: “I’m really excited to be racing again at Oulton Park, a track I’ve not raced at for over two years. It’s a very technical and fast circuit, so I’m really looking forward to it and aiming to bag some more good points like we did last time at Silverstone.”
